What is needed for the development of production. Furniture production as a business: which direction to choose? What are Russians willing to spend on?

What is the point of the continuous improvement system?

How things are at the moment:

Any enterprise is making efforts to improve, reduce costs, increase productivity, reduce waste.

All initiatives come from the management and the initiative group (no more than 5% of the team).

There is resistance or lack of active support at various levels, this is expressed in the absence or a small number of proposals for improving efficiency from employees.

The goals set by the management of the enterprise were not achieved.

What causes this:

>

The management does not know absolutely all the problems of the enterprise.

Any effort without the support of a large number of employees is ineffective.

There are anti-leaders who direct the efforts of their groups towards goals opposite to those of the enterprise.

A small number of proposals does not provide choice and increases the risk of inefficient costs and wasted resources.

What needs to be done:

Change the vector of initiative - suggestions and problems should come from workers, line managers and shop managers.

Identify informal leaders "stars or lenses", employees whose opinions are listened to by employees. Passing through them, all decisions are refracted depending on their motivational premises. They must be used to achieve the goals of the enterprise.

Identify goals that are common to leaders and management.

Involve the maximum number of employees of the enterprise in the process of developing measures to collect a large number of proposals and identify current problems. A large number of offers provides a choice and increases the chances of finding a cheap solution.

Indeed, at present, top management is forced to independently take steps to improve processes in order to achieve goals and develop the enterprise. The middle link and the workers do not show initiative in this direction, but more often perceive any changes as the prerogative of the management, the position of the employees - "if something needs to be done, they will tell us."

The system of continuous improvements is a way to shift some of the tasks of enterprise development to employees. Currently, the process operates according to the following algorithm:

Identifies the steps necessary to achieve it;

Finds performers;

Provides resources;

Creates constant pressure on performers;

Participates in meetings to resolve problems hindering the achievement of the goal.

In a continuous improvement system, the manager's role is limited to fewer activities:

The head sees the goal necessary for the development of the enterprise;

Provides resources;

Participates in meetings based on the results of the work of performers. Figure 2_What is the point of the continuous improvement system

A large number of employees involved in the improvement process provides the necessary number of solutions to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Constant pressure from management is replaced by motivation, and cyclical goal setting ensures movement in the required direction.

The strength of such a system lies in the fact that even the most talented and prepared leader is not able to do the same amount of work that all his employees and subordinates can do.

Creating a continuous improvement system can be broken down into 5 main steps:

Selecting System Options- Initially, the system should function on the basis of existing management, production, support and office processes. Therefore, it is necessary to choose from a variety of options that are most suitable for existing system: the structure of improvement management, control, goal setting, performance evaluation, rules and personnel involvement systems.

The stage consists of two consecutive actions, an assessment of the existing regulatory and regulatory documentation and a meeting with the participation of the top management of the enterprise, where possible process options are determined, the management needs to choose one or more of them, which is fixed by new documents.

Not everything will require the adoption of a regulatory document, it depends on the practice of solving problems at the enterprise, the management system and bureaucratization of processes.

Staff training- the chosen ways of setting goals and achieving these goals correspond to certain tools in the methodology " Lean Manufacturing» or other efficiency improvement techniques. At the stage of system formation, it is necessary to train key specialists in the necessary methods and tools. The stage provides for several types of training programs:

Teaching top management methods for setting goals - decomposition of top-level goals at the level of the performer;

Teaching performers how to transform goals into tasks for subordinates;

Training a group of specialists in tools to achieve goals - tools to influence losses;

In the case of choosing ways to involve personnel, providing for the possession of a separate tool, targeted training for a group of specialists.

In the future, our own trained specialists, this is the Lean Production group, conducts training for employees on their own.

Building the foundation of a continuous improvement system- the stage includes the implementation of the basic tools of "Lean production", 5S, visual control, operational and organizational standardization, TPM - universal effective maintenance of equipment. These tools stabilize the processes in the enterprise and prepare the system for change.

Also at the stage, difficult obstacles are removed. Based on the results of the work of cross-functional teams, management makes decisions that simplify the implementation of innovative methods of organizing processes.

The stage provides for the creation of a foundation for further improvements, the removal of obstacles to the development of the system and the involvement of personnel in the process of continuous improvement at an early stage.

On the ground, in the process of setting tasks defined as key to achieving the goals of the enterprise, the basic tools of "Lean Production" are implemented. Implementation is carried out by cross-functional teams.

The role of management is to remove obstacles that are outside the competence of the participants in the process, as a rule, these are documents or procedures "decelerators" present in any production system, which never worked on the principles of "Lean Manufacturing".

A system for submitting proposals is being put in place, and other options for staff involvement, if they were chosen at the first stage.

The implementation of basic tools at the stage of system formation is possible only on bottlenecks ah”, where they give tangible results and are understandable to employees. In the case when there are many places for implementation, the bottlenecks are ranked according to their importance for production. This is due to the limited resources of any enterprise. Shifting all the responsibility and work on the introduction of basic tools to the workers of workshops / sections will lead to increased resistance of workers.

Planned improvements- the stage of coverage by improvement goals, most of the enterprise. This is the stage of implementing specialized tools that more clearly affect problems in terms of quality, productivity, costs, and flexibility. The implementation of the tools is planned for a specific task/goal. The problem is directly affected, and not indirectly, as in the case of the introduction of basic tools. The stage is implemented in several directions:

Implementation of tools to achieve the set goals. The tools are implemented by a specialist responsible for achieving the goal, with the methodological support of consultants and specialists from the Lean Production group. The main resource is the subordinates and employees of the workshop / section, which is subject to the goal and objectives.

Solving local problems by cross-functional teams - attracting those who wish at the initiative of management or own wish commands to fix the problem. The work is carried out according to the principle of "Storm-breakthrough" or "Kaizen-Blitz" - local projects to achieve improvements in a well-defined area or equipment.

The management continues to eliminate the obstacles identified during the work of the teams and beyond the competence of the participants in the process.

The implementation of measures submitted by the employees of the enterprise as part of the work on the involvement of personnel begins.

The main attention at the stage should be given to the rapid implementation of measures submitted by the employees of the enterprise, at the stage of system formation it is important to prove the management's interest in changes and maintain interest in participating in the change process. Long-term implementation (especially for simple sentences) will completely undermine confidence in the system among staff. In any case, a quick feedback (response to the author of the proposal) is necessary, especially if the implementation of the measure is impossible, lengthy or requires additional elaboration.

Consolidation and maintenance of the result- introduction of new rules of work into daily practice. All changes are divided into three groups. One-time - physical changes, as a rule, their implementation immediately gives a result, and they do not require maintenance, for example, replacing one material with another cheaper or more sustainable one. Adapted - changes that are beneficial to employees, possibly increasing their earnings or reducing negative factors (fatigue, labor intensity), they also do not require maintenance. Forced - changes unfavorable to employees or misunderstood by them due to lack of awareness. Often this is the biggest part of the change, it causes resistance and sometimes opposition (especially at the worker level). Such changes require maintenance, control and promotion. Otherwise, the changes are quickly neutralized by employees to return to the original situation.

The active phase of the stage begins before setting the following goals for the cycle selected at the first stage and includes:

Creation of standard organizational and operational procedures - description of changes in the organization of work and methods of work;

Visual information - system propaganda stands. Improvements to make work easier, event bonuses and participation in cross-functional teams;

Orders and instructions that support the system, eliminate well-known problems and confirm the management's attention to the system;

The dynamics of improvements - the number of events, changes in indicators, the achievement of goals, workshops / areas - winners of various competitions in "Lean Production" and the growth of monetary rewards for active participants in the program.

The advocacy part of the phase can begin as soon as the first successful changes appear, but the main effort should be directed towards standardizing the changes and advocating the system. The first iteration (a full circle from setting goals to setting goals) is designed to involve the maximum number of voluntary participants in the system.

In the future, efforts are shifting towards standardization and control, while control is given priority.

pic 3_What is the point of the continuous improvement system? Suppose a manager is able to develop 50 measures to improve processes in a year, this is a lot and not a single worker is capable of this, not the knowledge, not the awareness. Let's say that the worker is able to give only 5 events. Now let's look at the ratio of the number of engineers and workers is approximately 1 to 10. That is, if each worker generates five events, the number will be quite comparable.

In a real situation, not every leader wants and can develop some kind of measures, and not every action developed by the management is accepted and supported by the workers. That is why the main emphasis in the implementation of the system is aimed precisely at involving the maximum number of personnel. Here is an example of one of the enterprises chemical industry overlooked this circumstance. Workers do not take part in improvements, as a result, all the work rests on those who cannot refuse. About 30 employees - middle managers and employees simultaneously participate in the work of 40 problem-solving groups.

Such "Kaizen" is perceived by the participants as hard labor and most of the events do not reach their logical conclusion. Former enthusiasts, actively "evade" participation in the project

Conclusion

In conclusion, I would like to ask you to add more profitable production business ideas in the comments, because we are not able to cover all areas. So we will make this collection of ideas even more.

We are also waiting for your questions, if any!

At the moment, all areas of small business are developing very actively. The business associated with the production of furniture is considered especially productive and profitable. In order to be aware of all the subtleties of this production, you do not need to undergo special training. To successfully conduct business, you must have elementary knowledge, concepts and little experience in this area. Luck and patience are not the last components of your success in this business.

Furniture business today

Not only mass production, but also piece-made furniture today has become a simple matter, accessible to everyone. Assembly processes are sometimes referred to as adult building blocks. If you have elementary ideas of what and how to do, then it will not be difficult for you to assemble modern furniture that is sold in expensive stores.

In fairness, it is worth noting the fact that the furniture market in Russia today suffers from great competition. About three thousand large medium-sized enterprises are actively fighting for their potential clients. Is there even the slightest chance for small businesses to find their niche in this market segment? In this article, we will try to address issues related to this topic.

If the company is not very large, it should pay great attention to the development of the production base, otherwise it may lose its competitiveness and go bankrupt.

In big cities, people are picky and very demanding about the quality of furniture. They are not satisfied with low quality products. The consumer is increasingly complaining about poorly made furniture. He looks closely not only at the appearance of the goods, but also wonders how long the furniture will last.

It is very difficult for small producers to compete with large firms, which have much more opportunities to produce products of better quality and in a larger assortment.

Many experts are inclined to think that the share of small and medium-sized enterprises in the furniture business will increase every year. This trend is quite understandable and predictable. In a few years, the share of small enterprises is expected to increase to 75 - 80%.

One of the most promising areas is the production of kitchen and office furniture. There is a real boom in this industry. Over the past 10 years, profits in this sector have increased by 20% every year. Small businesses are increasingly turning their eyes to built-in furniture - it is the leader in sales. Inexpensive, high-quality furniture, which is almost half the price of similar furniture made abroad, is in great demand among the population of our country.

It is worth knowing that investors are happy to invest in this type of business, as they know that with a successful investment, they can count on 40% profit.

For small and medium-sized furniture businesses, the main task is to occupy a certain niche. It means to produce a specialized product. Increasingly, firms are emerging on the market that are engaged in the production of unusual furniture made of glass, plastic, and rare woods.

Do not forget that lately it has become very fashionable to make furniture to order, which will have non-standard shapes, colors and designs. Manufacturers of wicker furniture have virtually no competition. Their merchandise sells well.

Instructions for those who decide to open a pawnshop, but do not know how best to do it:

Furniture business from scratch: we buy equipment

You can organize the production of furniture of various types and purposes. It can be a business for the production of built-in furniture, cabinet, upholstered, kitchen, office, garden and specialized.

The choice of premises and the purchase of the necessary equipment for the production of furniture is one of the most important components of the entire process. At the beginning of your career, an inexpensive tool will be enough for you. A sample list of what you can not do without:

  • electric drill;
  • screwdrivers;
  • jigsaw;
  • grinding machine;
  • milling cutter manual;
  • perforator;
  • industrial dryer;
  • tool for manual carpentry;
  • miter box;
  • clamps.

After the production moves to a new, high level, it will be possible to take care of buying a better and more expensive tool. The cost of buying a tool can be from 40 thousand rubles and more. Professional machines are expensive and should only be purchased when sales volumes and orders reach economically viable levels.

How to promote a furniture business?

The main role in the implementation belongs to retail. You can negotiate the sale of your products in large shopping malls and shops. Large manufacturers create their own branded salons, in which they sell goods of their own production.

Retail outlets should have a large area so that the furniture is placed freely and is clearly visible. In small towns, furniture sells well in the markets. To sell specialized furniture, you need to send out booklets and leaflets to company managers.

Relevant at the moment is the sale of furniture via the Internet. The only disadvantage of promoting the product in this way is the inaccurate representation of the buyer about the product.

The profitability of this type of business

To open shop medium scale, you will need from 2.5 to 3 million rubles. The bulk of the money will be used to rent the premises, purchase goods and pay staff. The business will pay off in 1.5 - 2 years with a margin on goods of 20 - 40% of the cost.

Budget and profitability of the furniture shop:

  • rent of premises - 60-70,000 rubles per month;
  • purchase of equipment, arrangement of production - 1,000,000 -1,300,000 rubles;
  • purchase of the necessary raw materials and materials - 250,000 rubles;
  • wages for workers - 100,000 -120,000 rubles per month;
  • expenses for other needs - 30,000 - 40,000 rubles.

Furniture shop can pay off in 2 - 2.5 years. Profit per month will be about 80,000 rubles.

Furniture factory- ideal profitability - 10 - 25%.

  • rent of premises - 2.5%,
  • staff salaries - 8 - 10%,
  • purchase of materials - 70%,
  • utilities and equipment maintenance - 3.5%,
  • transport - 2%,
  • advertising - 2%.

This is a calculation for a factory that specializes in the production of cabinet office furniture from chipboard. At the same time, the sales volume must be at least 10,000 items per month.

The furniture manufacturing business has always been and remains promising. People have changed and will continue to change furniture according to the degree of its wear. Manufacturers will never be out of work. And you can safely plunge into the production process. The main thing to do is to plan everything accurately and organize it correctly.

Perhaps the most difficult thing in business is an idea. To develop production, you need to have a clear idea of what you are going to produce. You can start organizing the process only after a thorough marketing research and market assessment - is there a place for your product on it?

You will need

  • Idea. Business plan. Patience.

Instruction

The best thing to do is to enter the market with a fresh idea that no one has come up with before you. In this case, the chances of success are much higher. But you can also try to improve an existing product, i.e. sell it cheaper than competitors, or make it better. In choosing a business idea, the following questions will help you: Do you have any skills that can become the basis for a future business? Are you aware of unfilled market niches in which there are no competitors? Do you have any ideas on how to solve the problems of the state or large companies?

Make a plan for the development of production, the main points of which can be: design (turning an abstract idea into a specific product), prototyping (creating a trial version), protecting rights (if you invented something? patent it), financing, organizational issues (how many workers you need where to place production etc.), marketing (think about how to organize sales of your product or service).

Perhaps the next most difficult problem after generating an idea is funding. Money for the development of production can be asked from the state, large companies, venture and innovation funds, various funds to support start-ups. You can also take a loan from a bank or mortgage property. In all cases (except the last one) you will need a business plan for your production - no one will provide funds just like that. Your business plan should include the following points: goals, idea, marketing plan, what you will spend the loan or investment on, how your business may be of interest to an investor or lender, how you are going to return the funds borrowed.

Discuss your idea with professionals, but be careful - if you are afraid that the idea will be stolen, it is better to keep it only in your head. The way out in this situation may be the conclusion of an agreement on non-disclosure of confidential information.

Test the market. Even the most seemingly profitable idea must be tested. To do this, you can arrange a survey of the target audience, as well as create a demo (trial) version of the product. The prototype is created to evaluate the requirements for the product, the timing of its implementation and the problems that arise. You need to test a product or service not only before starting production, but also in the process - so you can respond in a timely manner to the needs of consumers and the shortcomings of your products.

Stock up on patience, do not lose courage and faith in your own strength, many large businessmen started from scratch and achieved incredible success.

Material production is ultimately focused on meeting the needs of man and society. In the development of society, an objective pattern is noted - ever-increasing needs. The increase in demand is associated with both population growth and a change in the way of life of people. As society develops, new, more advanced ways of satisfying old needs and new, previously non-existent needs arise. Needs are the driving factor of human activity. L. Lafargue somehow half-jokingly remarked that laziness (the need to work less) is the lever of culture. But how do needs arise?

People must first find out what the need will then appear for, and then already seek its satisfaction. Let us ask: did a person begin to fry meat because he already had a need to eat fried meat, or, on the contrary, because he once ate fried meat, did he have a need for it? It seems that it is more logical to think like this: after the fire, they found a charred animal, ate its meat, noticed that fried meat is easier to chew, tasty, after it a person feels better, etc. First there were cases, and then needs. Many similar questions can be asked: did cinema appear because there was a need for it, or, on the contrary, cinema was invented and there was a need for it? Etc.

The use of the forces of nature, the development of productive forces gave rise to ever new needs. So, having stumbled upon ears of corn and consumed the grains for food, people began to consciously, purposefully look for cereals. When they began to cultivate the land, it became possible to produce grain, and then with the creation of millstones, the need for bread. Biological needs, the need to eat, drink, rest, etc., served as the initial basis for the formation of new needs. A number of needs arise on the basis of the development of social relations. Thus, exploitation gives rise to the need to fight the exploiters.

Needs develop, die off, new needs arise on the basis of changing and emerging productive forces and industrial relations. In turn, new needs become a stimulus for the development of the mode of production. The interaction of needs and production is a determinant of both the development of production itself and society as a whole.

In the course of the history of society, both the productive forces and the relations of production change. Productive forces and relations of production are aspects of a single whole - the mode of production. But they are different sides, they do not change in the same way and play different roles in the development of society.

People can't set as they please relations of production. These relationships are formed depending on the achieved level of productive forces. The nature of the means of labor dictates the need for certain relationships between people. Thus, the transition from feudal to capitalist production relations was prepared by the development of the productive forces. Under capitalism, manufacture, and then machine technology produced free competition capitalism and then state monopoly capitalism. And today, a higher level of productive forces, the socialization of labor led to the emergence of transnational corporations.

The dynamics of the relationship between productive forces and production relations can be represented as follows.

A change in the mode of production begins with a change in the productive forces.

As long as the relations of production make it possible to develop the productive forces (in particular, they give scope for raising labor productivity), society develops progressively.

Insofar as relations of production do not change as the productive forces develop, a discrepancy arises between the new level of developing productive forces and the existing production relations.

Since the ruling class is trying to preserve its economic base, existing production relations, in the course of social revolutions and reforms, a transition is being made to new production relations.

The new production relations give scope for the further development of the productive forces; society is progressing again. Etc.

Each form of production relations exists as long as it opens up sufficient scope for the development of productive forces. Throughout history, some production relations were replaced by others, this opened up new opportunities for the development of productive forces. Thus, capitalist production relations created the conditions for a more rapid development of the productive forces in comparison with feudal ones, since the guild organization of the craft was rejected.

The productive forces develop at different rates. In history, there is a pattern - the acceleration of the pace of development of productive forces as the transition from one formation to another. This is especially noticeable in the modern era. What causes the growth of productive forces?

An important role in the development of production is played by the application of science to the improvement of technology and the organization of production.

In the XX century. there is a scientific and technological revolution. The revolution in technology is the creation and implementation of such technical devices, which cause qualitative changes in production, transform its energy and material basis, production technology. A revolution in science is understood as the creation of new fundamental theories as a result of the discovery of new laws. If in the past science and technology developed relatively independently, the connections between them were episodic in nature, then the modern scientific and technological revolution is understood as an organic interconnection of the revolution in science and technology. This is the transformation of science into the direct productive force of society.

The scientific and technological revolution affects all spheres of society. In the course of the scientific and technological revolution, the nature of work and the requirements for employees change, and changes in the system of education and upbringing, management activities, etc. are required.

The development of material production is determined by a complex of factors, including the influence of the geographical environment and population growth, the interaction of productive forces and production relations, needs and production, the interaction of labor force and means of labor, the impact of science, turning it into a direct productive force.

Material production cannot be represented as some kind of only material-material process, which is carried out in addition to human consciousness. Economic consciousness is woven into material production.

From the very beginning of the existence of human society, people had certain knowledge about how to run a household, produce material goods. As the economy develops, this knowledge, reflecting various aspects of the process of production, exchange and distribution of material goods and knowledge about the organization and management of production and economic activity form a special form of social consciousness - economic consciousness.

This consciousness, like other forms of social consciousness, has ordinary-practical and theoretical levels. At the theoretical level, economic consciousness was represented in antiquity, for example, by Aristotle, who singled out politics, economics and ethics in the group of “practical” sciences, understanding economics as the science of housekeeping. Aristotle already has a number of important economic concepts and ideas, such as the essence of money.

Economic consciousness at the theoretical level began to develop rapidly in the era of capitalism. The creators of political economy as a science of economic activity, production and management - A. Smith, D. Ricardo and others - developed the labor theory of value. The views of these scientists, after their critical revision, served as one of the theoretical sources of Marxism.

Bourgeois economic consciousness, both at the ordinary practical and at the theoretical level, considers the acquisition of private property and personal enrichment to be the basis and goal of all economic management. At the same time, bourgeois economic science has developed concepts that make it possible to give capitalist production a dynamic character, which makes it possible to combine private initiative with state regulation.

Economic consciousness plays an important role in the development of the economy and the life of society. Depending on whether it reflects and evaluates reality correctly or not, it can serve as both an accelerator and a brake on the development of the economy. Public life clearly reacts to the application of certain economic concepts, ideas, models. In this regard, for example, the "secret" of Japan is interesting. The success of its economy can hardly be explained only by low military spending or the specifics of the national character, much is due to the introduction of economic thinking aimed at fierce competition, special attention to training, commitment to the firm and partners, collective discussion of problems, moral incentives, etc.
